Libraries in

Summerville,

North Charleston,
and Ridgeville

The Dorchester County Library Expansion Plan

  • Build additional libraries strategically linking communities throughout Dorchester County
     
  • Libraries will be located within a 5-10 mile radius of
    the Ridgeville, Summerville, and North Charleston areas

     
  • Move to a more community centric, 21st-century library model that may include:
    - Creative Maker Spaces
    - Quiet Study Areas
    - Public Meeting Rooms
    - Family-Friendly Zones

     
  • Provide more opportunities for early literacy, test preparation, and workforce development for all ages
